Disabled Worker’s Allowance of RM200 is provided for
the disabled who earn a monthly income of less than
RM750. |

A launching grant is provided for the disabled who
wish to venture into small business. The maximum grant
for this purpose is RM2700. However an additional grant
can be requested for business expansion. |

Funding is provided to disabled persons to purchase
assistive devices such as orthopaedic appliances,
hearing aids and wheelchairs. The National Welfare
Foundation also has a special fund to help disabled
persons purchases motorized tricycles and other
assistive devices. |

Job placement is provided in sheltered workshops for
disabled persons who are unable to secure employment in
the open labour market. |

1% of public service posts are reserved for the
disabled. A special unit has been established at the
Ministry of Human Resources to assist the disabled to
get jobs. |

Double tax exemption is given to employers in the
private sector who employ disabled persons. |

50% discount on travel fares from Syarikat Prasarana
Negara. 50% discount on local airfare and train fare. |

No road Tax for motorcycles 150cc and below. |

No road tax for locally made vehicle owned by a
disabled person. |

50% discount on government duty on locally made cars.
(But you can’t re-sell them for 10 years). |

A monthly allowance of RM25 is given to disabled
students in primary and secondary schools. An allowance
of RM300 per month is also given to disabled students in
institutions of higher learning. |

Civil servants with disabled children are allowed to
work on flexi-hours to facilitate them in caring for
their children. |

Disabled persons in the lower income group are given
priority to purchase low and medium cost houses from
Syarikat Perurnahan Nasional Berhad (SPNB) with a price
discount of 20 %. |

Disabled persons can also obtain financing from the
government's Micro-Credit Scheme. |

15. |
Disabled athletes who represent the country arid win
medals will be given monetary incentives. |
